I went to college as a computer science major with the intention of programming video games. After a few courses and having programmed some games in my spare time, I realized that, while I love the creative aspects of it, the sheer monotony of programming was not for me outside of the hobby realm.

A close friend and martial arts student of mine suggested that given my passion for teaching Hapkido, I should instead open a dojang. I graduated with a major in Asian Studies and spent the next 7 years traveling, working and preparing to run the martial arts studio. We opened in 2012 and I love it!
